What the heck is Joint Venturing or JV to people in the know?

If you’re like me and you’ve done all your research and you’ve got your site and your keywords and you understand blogging and then the experts throw in “joint venturing will improve your Internet marketing capability and improve your sales”.

So you go and research Joint Ventures and how they work and…….. if you’ve read some of the articles I’ve read you are left thinking heck I’m not sure I understand this anymore. Well don’t throw in the towel quite yet. I’m lucky I have access to some pretty good people and advisers and I’ve utilised their knowledge to come up with what I hope will be a simple guide for you and help you understand Joint Ventures and how they really can help you especially when you are just starting out.

So What is a Joint Venture?

Joint Ventures are where two people or groups agree to help each other out. For example I have a great website on Yoga, which attracts a high volume of visitors and you have a site , which sells yoga mats. You are just starting out and have your site up and running but your just not attracting the amount of visitors to your site you would like. You recognise I have a good site and would like to do business with me and form some sort of partnership, well this would be a joint venture.

But I’ve only just started why would anyone want to Joint Venture with me?

Good question and I guess if you market yourself like this then the answer would probably be they won’t. You need to be more subtle in your approach and show what a good product you are offering and why it makes sense for them to join up with you. For example although your site doesn’t attract as many visitors the ones that do come to you buy your product and are clearly interested in yoga. If you back link to the other site then this will increase their traffic of “paying” customers because they have used a very specific search engine request to seek you out.

Another way to promote yourself is find out if this site offers a free newsletter and if it does sign up for it. Leave helpful comments for example if you see a question regarding yoga mats answer it, become their mat expert and build trust.

Another way is to become an affiliate member. We have covered this in other articles but this is a form of Joint Venture. As you progress Joint Venturing will become second nature and you will see the benefits.

Do some research by keyword search and see what sites come up, have a look at them and if you like what they are about do the above.

What Are The Benefits of Joint Ventures?

They are another tool for you to promote your site and a chance to work with more experienced people and build your reputation.

Don’t be afraid of taking these steps, Joint Ventures may seem daunting but lots of people do them and lots of people offer some sort of scheme.

Remember to doing something is better than doing nothing at all.
